This week I’m so excited to highlight one of my favorite jewelers in the United States where I worked back in the day as well – Eiseman Jewels. You can find them in Dallas, Texas in a really unique mall filled with art and a lot of local history called NorthPark Center. And don’t miss the links at the bottom of this article for a tour on YouTube and another post with more gems!
As a graduate gemologist, I so enjoyed seeing the selection of gems.
I asked my colleague Diamond Cutter and wonderful person in general, Andre Vorster, to give me a tour of some of the most intriguing gems in the store. We had to stop by the gorgeous sapphires, with that Superman blue richness emanating from the superbly cut stones.
The fan earrings remind me of a flapper style of dress, quietly flamboyant and beautifully articulated with small pearls at each point.
Then he said, “You’ll NEVER guess what this bracelet has in it.” He was totally right. What do you think?
It is diamonds and red emeralds! Can you believe it? And it was owned by the wonderful Elizabeth Arden, famous for her cosmetics and the big Red Door in all her advertising and perfumes.
Ever since I traveled to Bogota, Colombia many years ago, I’ve had a deep appreciation for emeralds. I especially loved these earrings and the tumbled necklace.
Then Andre and I moved on to diamonds, and a wonderful opera-length necklace with coordinating bracelets.
I peeked at some more favorites in the antique and new designers – all so lovely.
Finally, Andre took me aside and showed me something else red – a very rare color called Pigeon-blood red ruby and diamond bracelet. Sublime!
There also was a very stately pounded-gold necklace from designer David Webb that looks like it’s ready for a night on the red carpet.
Thank you for a wonderful visit at Eisemen Jewels! It will always feel like coming home again for me, no matter where we live.
